Isagenix 30 Day Program- Week 2 Update

July 26, 2008

So I decided that writing every day is going to get a bit boring and redundant. I’m going to try to write every few days or at least once a week to update on my progress.

The new routine I have going is working pretty well. If you just joined me, I wrote about my new routine in my day 4 post. Since I’m trying to get pregnant, I’ve also decided not to cleanse and not to take the Ionix and accelerator pills.  Cleansing I shouldn’t do for obvious reasons. The Ionix has some pretty exotic herbs in them and I’ve read some articles about why pregnant women shouldn’t take ginseng. The accelerator pills seem to contain some pretty normal stuff however, in the event that I do get pregnant, I wouldn’t want the pills (natural thermogenic) working against my body.

So basically, I’m using the shakes for the nutritional aspect. Plus they’re low calorie, filling, and taste pretty good. I’m also eating my sensible meals in smaller and more frequent portions to cut back on the entire reason for doing this program. I just eat waaaay too much at the worst time of the day, nighttime. So far I’ve been able to cut back on the amount that I eat at night and I’m not starving.

A few cool things I’ve tried. My cousin suggested putting some of the citrus flavored “Want More Energy” powder in the vanilla shake. You’ll have yourself what tastes like an orange sherbert smoothie, Yum! Another way to prepare the vanilla is with some frozen blueberries. Also very good.  For my next batch of products (autoship), I’ve decided to try the soup.  Although the shakes are good, I love variety and more importantly, I love soup.  Will update on how the soup is.

I haven’t done any weighing or measuring since day 1 and I don’t intend to until day 18. Stay tuned.

I am starting the 30 day program tomorrow and thought I would blog it as well. I really enjoying reading about everyone’s success. Keep us posted on your progress.

Hello! I’m so thrilled you are having success with the program. I’m really struggling. I’m hungry. I think I’m doing something wrong because everyone else keeps saying they don’t feel hungry. I feel bad because I went to a wedding yesterday and ate regular food. It was a buffet. I did eat small portions but I felt bad about it. I’m on the 30 day program and need to lose 40lbs. I did lose 3lbs in 4 days and haven’t had my first cleanse day yet. Will I see a huge diffrence after my cleanse day?

    Hi Michele,

Sorry to hear that you’re struggling. How far are you in the program? My first 3 days were really tough, I was hungry all the time at first but I think around day 5 or 6, I got over the hump and now, I’m not hungry much anymore. Also, this weekend I wasn’t able to stick to my routine since I had plans to eat out with friends. But to my surprise, I could barely finish half of my food. And it wasn’t that big of a portion.

Unfortunately, I cant answer your question about getting better results after cleansing because I’ve opted not to cleanse (trying to get pregnant). However, in theory, you should start to see results after cleansing since clearing out the toxins stored in the fat cells is supposed to help burn the fat.

Another thing to think about and I’m sure you have already, but this helped me put things into perspective. At first I wanted to lose 15-20 lbs. Then I started reading up about body fat %’s and I found this helpful resource which made me realize that 15-20 lbs wasn’t realistic (too much) for me. It would only be healthy for me to lose about 7 lbs of body fat. Check out the article here and do the calculation to see if 40 lbs is the healthy way to go for you. The last thing you want to do is set an unrealistic goal. http://www.healthchecksystems.com/bodyfat.htm

I wish you the best and please feel free to email me if you want to compare notes.

    Thanks,
    Michelle C.

Great blog. I hope you really stick to the program. I currently have 6 physicians (including my father), introducing it to their patients. Let’s just say, I’m extremely excited about the results that have been reported to me. Think of this as not just a weightloss system, but a technology that will GIVE you optimal health.
